The Educational Support Specialist will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting youth as they navigate their educational and career paths. This position will be the primary point of contact for all education-related matters, offering personalized assistance to help clients identify their goals and achieve success. The role involves working closely with youth to understand their individual needs, aspirations, and challenges, and developing tailored plans to support their educational journey. The Educational Support Specialist will also collaborate with families, schools, and community organizations to create a supportive network around each client. This includes organizing college tours, coordinating tutoring services, and providing resources for scholarship applications. Additionally, the specialist will motivate and inspire youth to pursue higher education and career opportunities, fostering a culture of achievement and resilience. By building strong relationships and leveraging community partnerships, the Educational Support Specialist will ensure that each client has access to the resources and support they need to thrive
Responsibilities and Skills:
Career and Educational Guidance: Assist clients in identifying potential career and educational paths post-high school. Provide resources and support to help them make informed decisions. Tutoring Support: Identify younger youth who may need tutoring assistance and arrange appropriate support services. College Tours: Organize and coordinate college tours to expose youth to higher education opportunities. Scholarship Assistance: Help clients research and apply for scholarships, ensuring they have access to financial aid opportunities. Motivation and Encouragement: Inspire and motivate youth to pursue higher education and achieve their full potential. Resource Coordination: Serve as the go-to person for all education-related inquiries, providing information and resources to clients and their families. Individualized Support: Develop personalized education plans for each client, tailored to their unique needs and aspirations. Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members, community partners, and educational institutions to provide comprehensive support to clients. Community Partnerships: Establish and maintain partnerships with local schools, colleges, businesses, and community organizations to enhance the resources and opportunities available to our clients.
Job Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Youth Development, or related field.
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience working with youth, after-school programs, foster care, behavioral support, or community-based services.
Experience engaging adolescents and families from diverse backgrounds.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of educational systems, career counseling, and scholarship application processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Passion for empowering youth and making a positive impact in their lives.
Compensation/Benefits:
$45,000.00 plus employee benefits
Full-time position with some evening and weekend availability required.
Primarily on-site within youth programming environments.
Occasional travel to program activities, community events, trainings, and meetings.
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM or based on program scheduling needs.
