- Position: After School Tutor/Summer Tutor
- Pay: $14.00/hr-with pay increases starting after 100 hours of teaching as a Sylvan teacher.
- Hours:
- Monday through Thursday: 3:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

- No Lesson Planning or Parent Conferences: Sylvan handles the administrative side (lesson planning, scheduling, parent conferences), so you can focus entirely on teaching and inspiring students.
- Free Sylvan Sessions for Dependent Children: After six months of employment, you’ll be eligible for free tutoring sessions for your own children.
- Tutoring in Math and Science: You'll help students with their Math and Science studies, providing one-on-one or small group instruction.
- Rapport Building: Establish a positive relationship with students by being approachable, friendly, and engaging.
- Create a Fun and Supportive Environment: Your role is to make learning enjoyable and boost students' confidence, helping them overcome challenges.
- Inspire Lifelong Learning: Use Sylvan’s proven approach to instill a passion for learning and academic success.
- Encourage Independence: As a tutor, you'll help students work through problems independently, building both their academic skills and self-confidence.
You must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in an Alternative Certification Program for teaching
- Have teaching experience that does not require certification, such as working in a private school or an institution of higher education
- Be a sophomore or higher in college, enrolled in an education program
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Math/Science related studies
- State-level teaching certification is preferred, though not required
