Purpose of Position
Ensuring that installation, materials, and testing comply with international standards and project specifications.
- The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy.
Major Responsibilities

Perform visual and dimensional inspections of electrical (switchgear, MCCs, lighting, grounding) and instrumentation (transmitters, control valves, analyzers) equipment.

Review Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, P&IDs, cable schedules, loop diagrams, and wiring diagrams to ensure installation accuracy.

Inspect hazardous area equipment (Ex d, Ex e, Ex i, etc.) to ensure compliance with IEC 60079 standards.

Witness insulation resistance (Megger) tests, continuity checks, cable laying/glanding/termination, and grounding checks.

Perform and verify cold and hot loop checks, including functional testing of instruments and validation of signals to the Distributed Control System (DCS) or Safety Instrumented System (SIS).

Ensure work complies with IEC, IEEE, ISA, API, and project-specific standards.

Raise and track Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and punch lists.

Identify and document incomplete or defective work (punch listing) and manage their closure before final handover.
Qualification and Experience

Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.

Minimum 5–10 years in oil & gas construction, EPC, or brownfield projects.
Skills & Qualities:
Strong understanding of IEC/IEEE standards, ability to interpret P&IDs and electrical drawings, and proficiency in using test equipment (multimeters, HART communicators)
