In this role, you will;

  • Act independently on shift, ensuring adequate station stocks (forecasting) of ULD and accessories are maintained, taking decisions for immediate correction of imbalances. This includes managing the transfer of adequate stocks to start-up stations. Pay special attention to the hub, including peak hour baggage requirements.
  • Co-ordinate with SkyCargo for meeting daily requirements of specialized ULDs across the network, leasing units where necessary and planning utilization so as to minimize idle time and demurrage due to late return to the leasing companies.
  • The role holder will manage on daily basis the service level agreement with DNATA Technical Services, ensuring ULD deliveries from assembly and repair match network requirements. Provides the Manager ULD Logistics (EK) with monthly trends on repair expenses, recommending corrective action.
  • Maintain close relationships with the IATA ULD group for regular interline transfer of ULDs to cater to EK network needs, ensuring timely return of other carrier ULDs to minimize demurrage charges. Similarly, tracks EK ULDs loaned to other carriers and cargo agents, initiating tracing action in case of missing units.
  • Track network cargo and baggage trends, and recommend changes to published minimum station stock levels.
  • Recommend the ULD configuration on flights needing to carry urgent stocks to meet outstation requirements, influencing SkyCargo to replace low priority cargo wherever necessary.
  • Makes the decision to remove non-serviceable units from operation. With Group Safety, analyzes aircraft delays due to damaged ULDs, investigating with respective stations to identify causes and recommending corrective actions. Undertakes to recover ULD repair costs from station handling agents where damage isbr>due to poor handling.
  • Ensure all Pallets/Nets provided for Freighter operations are in accordance with FAA airworthiness standards, avoiding possible penalties at freight gateways.
