Electric Vehicle Diagnostic Specialist

Job Summary

An Electric Vehicle Diagnostic Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electric vehicles and their associated electrical, electronic, and battery systems. The role requires expertise in EV powertrains, high-voltage systems, diagnostic software, and advanced vehicle electronics to ensure vehicle performance, safety, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics on electric vehicles using OEM diagnostic tools and software.
• Identify faults in:
• High-voltage battery systems
• Electric drivetrains
• Charging systems
• Power electronics
• Thermal management systems
• Vehicle control modules
• Conduct repairs and replacements of EV components.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of:
• EV architecture
• Lithium-ion battery systems
• Battery Management Systems (BMS)
• Electric motors and inverters
• CAN Bus communication
• ADAS integration
• Proficiency with:
• Oscilloscopes
• Multimeters
• OEM scan tools
• Diagnostic software platforms
• Ability to read electrical schematics and service manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capability.

Education & Qualifications: Preferred Education

• Diploma or Degree in:
• Automotive Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechatronics

Certifications (Preferred)

• EV High Voltage Safety Certification
• OEM EV Diagnostic Training
• ASE EV Certification
• Hybrid and EV repair certifications from recognized institutions

Experience Requirements

• 2–5 years of automotive diagnostic experience preferred.
• Experience working with EV brands or hybrid vehicles is advantageous.
• Familiarity with OEM diagnostic systems and EV repair standards.

Pay: From AED7,000.00 per month
