Primary Roles and Responsibilities
1·Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for electrical systems and machinery.
- Plan and prioritize maintenance tasks to ensure minimal downtime of equipment.
- Organize regular inspections and audits of electrical systems.
2. Supervision of Maintenance Activities:
- Supervise and manage a team of electrical maintenance technicians or engineers.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Ensure that team members follow maintenance procedures and protocols.
3. Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Oversee the troubleshooting and repair of electrical faults and breakdowns.
- Ensure that repairs are performed promptly to minimize production or operational disruptions.
- Identify root causes of recurring electrical issues and implement corrective actions.
4. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international electrical codes and safety standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols to protect workers from electrical hazards.
5. Budget and Cost Management:
- Prepare and manage the budget for electrical maintenance activities.
- Monitor and control expenses related to maintenance, repair, and procurement of parts.
- Optimize the use of resources and reduce costs while maintaining the reliability of electrical systems.
6. Inventory Management:
- Maintain adequate stock levels of electrical parts and components.
- Order and procure necessary materials, ensuring the availability of essential spare parts.
- Organize the inventory and ensure the proper storage of materials.
7. Project Management:
- Oversee electrical installation projects or upgrades.
- Coordinate with other departments and vendors to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Monitor the progress of projects and ensure they stay within budget and on schedule.
8. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Generate and review maintenance reports for senior management.
- Prepare detailed reports for equipment performance and maintenance status.
9. Training and Development:
- Provide training to staff on electrical systems, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in electrical maintenance.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
10. Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor and analyze the performance of electrical systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement innovative solutions to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize overall facility performance.
