Electrical Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical automation systems using ABB products including drives (ACS series), motors, PLCs (AC500), soft starters, and low-voltage switchgear
• Develop control panel designs, wiring schematics, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN in line with ABB OEM standards
• Program and configure ABB PLCs (AC500), ABB Ability™ systems, and ABB drives using Drive Composer and related tools
• Integrate ABB drives and controllers with SCADA/HMI platforms and DCS environments
• Lead FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) for delivered systems
• Commission ABB-based automation systems at client sites across industrial and infrastructure projects
• Work closely with ABB product specialists and the OEM support team to ensure optimal product selection and application
• Prepare technical documentation including BOQs, single-line diagrams, control narratives, and O&M manuals
• Provide after-sales technical support and troubleshooting for installed ABB systems
• Stay current with ABB product updates, new releases, and OEM program requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field
• 3–7 years of experience in electrical automation with hands-on ABB product experience
• Proficiency with ABB AC500 PLC programming (Automation Builder / Codesys environment)
• Strong working knowledge of ABB drives (ACS355, ACS580, ACS880 series) and configuration via Drive Composer
• Experience with ABB low-voltage products: contactors, MCBs, MCCB, soft starters, and MNS switchgear
• Solid understanding of motor control, power distribution, and industrial automation architecture
• Knowledge of communication protocols: Modbus RTU/TCP, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and DDCS
• Ability to produce and interpret electrical drawings and schematics

Preferred

• ABB certified training or accreditation (drives, PLC, or functional safety)
• Experience with ABB Ability™ digital platform and cloud-based condition monitoring
• Familiarity with ABB Symphony Plus or 800xA DCS platforms
• Background in oil & gas, water & wastewater, power generation, or manufacturing sectors
• Knowledge of IEC 61511 / SIL-rated safety systems

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
