Electrical BIM Modeler - Part Timer/Freelance

Switzel International is seeking a skilled Freelance / Part-Time Electrical BIM Modeler to support ongoing and upcoming projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality Electrical BIM models, ensuring compliance with project standards, BIM requirements, and industry best practices.

This role offers flexible working arrangements and is ideal for professionals available on a project-based or part-time basis.

Candidates who are available for immediate joining will be given priority.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed Electrical BIM models using Autodesk Revit
• Prepare electrical shop drawings, layouts, and coordinated models in line with project requirements
• Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, and MEP teams to resolve clashes and design issues
• Perform clash detection using Navisworks and support resolution processes
• Ensure compliance with BIM LOD 400–500, project standards, and client requirements
• Generate accurate BOQs / quantity take-offs from BIM models
• Review and update models based on design changes and site feedback
• Maintain proper BIM documentation, model versions, and drawing logs
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior BIM modelers as required

Requirements & Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• 2 to 10 years of proven experience as an Electrical BIM Modeler
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
• Solid understanding of Electrical systems (power, lighting, ELV, low current systems, etc.)
• Experience in preparing shop drawings and construction-stage BIM models
• Knowledge of BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and coordination workflows
• Familiarity with international standards and local authority requirements is an advantage
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Team-oriented with strong communication and coordination skills
• Immediate joiners or candidates with short notice periods are highly preferred
