Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer with extensive consulting experience and a valid Dubai Municipality (DM) consulting approval license, with a strong background working on projects exclusively within the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading electrical design efforts on complex building and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, particularly DM requirements, and managing approvals from relevant local authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical design for commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects within the UAE, ensuring designs comply with UAE codes, Dubai Municipality standards, and other relevant local regulations.
• Prepare and review detailed electrical design drawings, load calculations, lighting layouts, and specifications tailored to UAE standards.
• Obtain, maintain, and leverage Dubai Municipality consulting approval license for design submissions and approvals.
• Coordinate closely with UAE local authorities (e.g., Dubai Municipality, DEWA, RTA) to secure all necessary electrical permits and approvals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure design integration and execution aligned with UAE project requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers on UAE-specific electrical design standards and consulting processes.
• Conduct site visits within the UAE to verify compliance of electrical installations with approved designs and local regulations.
• Manage multiple UAE-based projects simultaneously, delivering high-quality designs on schedule.
• Stay updated on changes in UAE electrical codes, DM regulations, and industry best practices.
• Support business development activities with UAE clients through technical expertise and proposal development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum +5 years of electrical design experience, with at least 3 years in UAE consulting engineering projects.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE electrical codes, Dubai Municipality regulations, DEWA standards, and other relevant authorities.
• Proficiency in electrical design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, Dialux, or similar software.
• Proven track record managing electrical design consulting projects within the UAE market.
• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with UAE clients and government bodies.
• Ability to lead teams and mentor junior engineers in UAE electrical design standards.
