Electrical Design Engineer

Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in design review, testing, and commissioning to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of electrical systems, commissioning methodologies, and system integration, along with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform design reviews to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and best engineering practices.
• Execute and contribute to peer review / commissionability reviews, including: Documentation gap analysis, identification of key risks and mitigation strategies, and providing recommendations and defining required actions.
• Identify and evaluate operational challenges within existing live data halls during the commissioning of the phase/extension, and develop appropriate mitigation plans to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
• Conduct testing and commissioning verification for Electrical systems in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for various equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and construction teams to ensure smooth integration and seamless transition from construction to operational phase.
• Prepare accurate and detailed test reports, documentation, and compliance records, highlighting any deviations from specifications and recommending corrective actions.
• Knowledgeable in preparing method statement.
• Assist in the preparation of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals or project documentation packages in alignment with Commissioning and Project Handover schedules.
• Knowledgeable in Electrical Testing and Commissioning like Cold, live test etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in design reviews and commissionability assessments.
• Strong understanding of system integration and commissioning processes.
• Proven experience (5+ years) of hands-on field experience in electrical installation, quality assurance/quality control (QAQC), and commissioning.
• DEWA/ADDC certification preferred
• Data center certification(s) will be an added advantage
• Previous experience in data center projects will be a significant advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
