About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering consultancy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and technical delivery of electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects in compliance with local authority regulations and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical design calculations, layouts, and technical specifications
• Design power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, ELV, and grounding systems
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines during design development
• Prepare load calculations, single line diagrams, panel schedules, and voltage drop calculations
• Ensure compliance with DEWA/ADDC/authority requirements and applicable codes and standards
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical submissions
• Attend design coordination meetings and provide technical support during project execution
• Assist in authority submissions and responses to technical comments
• Conduct site visits and inspections when required
• Support project delivery within agreed timelines and budgets

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in electrical design for building projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards including IEC, NFPA, and local authority regulations
• Experience in preparation of design calculations and technical reports
• Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications

• UAE/GCC consultancy experience preferred
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and Revit MEP is an advantage
• Membership in a recognized engineering body is a plus
