As an Electrical Design Engineer ,You will be responsible to preparing preliminary and detailed engineering design documents across all stages of consultancy services. This includes reviewing and approving design submissions from vendors and contractors, covering systems such as GIS/AIS, transformers, cables, and protection schemes. You will coordinate with contractors, vendors, and clients to resolve technical issues, participate in technical meetings. Additionally, you will conduct technical bid evaluations for contractors and vendors, provide site support during testing and commissioning phases, and offer technical support to the tendering department throughout project execution.

Develop electrical design packages for smart grid and power distribution projects

Perform load flow, short circuit, and protection studies using industry software (ETAP, DIgSILENT, etc.)

Prepare single line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, and detailed layouts

Support feasibility studies and concept design for grid modernization and renewable integration

Design and review MV/LV networks, substations, and distribution systems

Integrate smart technologies such as AMI, SCADA, and energy management systems

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design compliance and efficiency

Ensure adherence to international standards (IEC, IEEE) and local regulations (UAE/ADDC/DEWA)

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

3–7 years of experience in electrical design / power systems / smart grid projects

Strong knowledge of power system analysis and grid infrastructure

Familiarity with smart grid technologies (AMI, SCADA, IoT-based systems)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience working in consultancy or design environments

Ability to work in a fast-paced startup setting

Software: AutoCAD, ETAP, PSS SINCAL, MS Office

Strong expertise in protection & control systems, SCMS, and substation design

In-depth knowledge of IEC and IEEE standards
