The role ensures that products meet performance, efficiency, safety, and regulatory requirements while supporting cost optimization and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Electrical Design & Development
  • Design electrical circuits, windings, and insulation systems for submersible motors (single-phase and three-phase).Develop motor designs considering voltage, current, torque, efficiency, thermal limits, and insulation class.
  • Perform electromagnetic calculations, loss analysis, and efficiency optimization in line with IEC/IS standards.
  • Select appropriate electrical materials such as copper conductors, insulation, varnishes, cables, and terminals.
2. Standards & Compliance
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards such as IEC, IS (BIS), NEMA, and customer-specific specifications.
  • Support energy-efficiency compliance (e.g., IE2/IE3/IE4 where applicable).
  • Prepare technical documentation required for statutory approvals and certifications.
3. Testing & Validation
  • Define and support type testing, routine testing, and performance testing of submersible motors.
  • Analyze test results related to electrical performance, temperature rise, insulation resistance, and dielectric strength.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for electrical failures and recommend corrective actions.
4. Manufacturing & Cross-Functional Support
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and sourcing teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
  • Support production during pilot runs, process validation, and issue resolution.
  • Assist in vendor development and technical evaluation of electrical components.
  • Prepare and maintain electrical drawings, winding diagrams, specifications, and BOMs.
  • Implement engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) and maintain revision control.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in ERP/PLM systems.
6. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
