Electrical Draughtsman

Full job description

The Electrical Draftsman will be responsible for preparing precise and coordinated electrical drawings for power, lighting, ELV, and fire alarm systems. The role demands accuracy, authority compliance, and the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale developments.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed electrical shop drawings for:

Lighting & Power Layouts

Emergency Lighting

Small Power Distribution

Fire Alarm System

ELV Systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intercom, etc.)

Translate engineering sketches and concepts into technical drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP (if applicable).

Develop as-built drawings, redline updates, and reflect any site changes into the design.

Coordination & Compliance:

Coordinate electrical layouts with mechanical, structural, architectural, and ELV systems to identify and resolve clashes.

Ensure all drawings are in compliance with local authority regulations (FEWA, DEWA, SEWA, DM, DCD, etc.) and international standards (e.g., NEC, BS, IEC).

Assist with authority submission drawings and incorporate feedback from consultants and government bodies.

Support & Documentation:

Maintain a complete and organized drawing log and ensure all revisions are recorded.

Support project engineers in preparing detailed installation drawings and site coordination layouts.

Participate in site visits when necessary to understand and incorporate real-time conditions into updated drawings.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience in drafting electrical systems for high-rise buildings, with at least 3 years in the UAEProficient in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit MEP and Navisworks is a strong advantage.

Solid understanding of electrical systems used in high-rise construction.

Familiarity with UAE authority requirements and submission procedures.

Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single line diagrams, load schedules, and specifications.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
