Electrical Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Resident Engineer to oversee the engineering and construction supervision of high-voltage power substation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the electrical engineering scope for high-voltage substations (400kV / 220kV / 132kV), ensuring compliance with design, schedule, and budget.
• Supervise construction works on-site, ensuring strict adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with HSE regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
• Identify, report, and ensure timely resolution of non-conformances.
• Plan, organize, and oversee engineering and construction inspection activities.
• Act as the technical liaison between the Client and contractors, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and verify installed quantities; support the closeout process.
• Manage and oversee testing and commissioning activities, ensuring successful energization and integration of substation systems.
• Review method statements and commissioning procedures to ensure alignment with project requirements and international standards.
• Assist in the preparation and validation of test reports, punch lists, and final acceptance documents.
• Provide technical support during FAT/SAT and final handover stages.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (BE) in Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, specifically in the UAE
• Proven experience in site supervision and project management of high-voltage substations
• Strong background in testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and SCADA
• In-depth knowledge of UAE regulations and utility standards
• Excellent understanding of electrical design, installation, and commissioning procedures
• Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working with major UAE utility authorities
• Experience with EPC contractors or engineering consultancies in the Middle East
