Job Description: Electrical Engineer (GCC Experience Preferred)

We are seeking a highly competent and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of electrical systems and components, with a strong emphasis on detailed technical drawing and the preparation of comprehensive electrical schedules. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, demonstrating familiarity with relevant regional standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Drafting:
• Perform detailed electrical system design for buildings, infrastructure, and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with relevant local and international standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, and specific GCC regulations).
• Generate precise CAD drawings and schematics, including single-line diagrams, power distribution layouts, lighting layouts, grounding plans, and cable tray/conduit routing.
• Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) proficiently to produce high-quality, professional engineering documents.
• Technical Documentation and Scheduling:
• Develop comprehensive electrical schedules, including load schedules, equipment schedules (e.g., switchgear, transformers, generators), and panel board schedules.
• Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and technical specifications for all electrical components and systems.
• Assist in the preparation of technical submittals, reports, and compliance documentation.
• Engineering and Analysis:
• Conduct load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and protective relay coordination studies.
• Calculate required equipment sizes, cable sizes, and protection settings.
• Participate in site inspections, commissioning activities, and quality assurance checks.
• Collaboration and Project Management:
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure project requirements are met.
• Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to timelines and budget.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in electrical design and engineering.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Proven ability to produce accurate, detailed electrical drawings and system schematics using CAD software.
• Demonstrated expertise in preparing and managing detailed electrical schedules (load, panel, equipment, etc.).
• Solid understanding of electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC) and industry best practices.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred:

• GCC Experience: Prior work experience in a GCC country (e.g., UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman) with knowledge of local authority regulations and submission procedures is a significant advantage.
• Certification: Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent professional certification (e.g., chartered engineer).
• Software Skills: Familiarity with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools) is a plus.
• Other: Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
