Electrical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy recognized for its innovative and sustainable design solutions in K-12, commercial, and municipal building projects across Virginia.

This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of projects from concept to commissioning, working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams. You will be instrumental in designing and delivering high-performance building systems that positively impact schools, workplaces, and communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the complete electrical design process, including load calculations, system layouts, and equipment selection.
• Prepare detailed design documentation, technical specifications, and construction packages.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure seamless project integration.
• Ensure all designs comply with codes, standards, budgets, and project timelines.
• Conduct client meetings to understand project goals, requirements, and deliverables.
• Provide technical support during construction, including review of RFIs, submittals, and site inspections.
• Oversee commissioning, testing, and quality assurance for final project handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
• 8+ years of experience in building electrical design (preferably within K-12, commercial, municipal, or government sectors).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential.
• EIT license (Virginia) required; PE license strongly preferred.
• LEED Accreditation is an advantage.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Pay: $74,922.99 - $120,229.84 per year
