Electrical Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in solar energy projects and a proven track record of working in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning, particularly within utility-scale and commercial-scale solar projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the design, engineering, and execution of solar PV electrical systems, including grid-tied systems.
• Prepare and review electrical design documents, single line diagrams, load calculations, and BOQs in accordance with SEC (Saudi Electricity Company) and international standards.
• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of solar systems on-site.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and project specifications.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, utility providers, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies for new solar projects.
• Support project management in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate with procurement for electrical materials and ensure quality control.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3 years in solar energy projects in Saudi Arabia.
• Strong knowledge of SEC regulations, IEC, NEC, and other relevant standards.
• Experience in using electrical design software such as ETAP, AutoCAD, PVsyst, and similar.
• Strong understanding of grid integration and power system protection in solar projects.
• Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership or registration is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the Kingdom as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
• Knowledge of energy storage systems (ESS) and hybrid systems.
• Experience working with international EPC contractors.
