Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with a proven track record in data center electrical design, commissioning, and facility operations. The role encompasses the full lifecycle of electrical and building services systems—from Basis of Design (BOD), detailed design, and Issued-for-Construction (IFC) documentation to installation, Testing & Commissioning (T&C), operations, and final system handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical System Design & Documentation
- Lead the design of low- and medium-voltage (LV/MV) power distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, emergency power systems, grounding and lightning protection, and data center lighting.
- Prepare IFC-ready drawings, technical specifications, schematics, and sequences of operation.
- Ensure designs support high availability, redundancy, and mission-critical operations.
- Building Services Coordination
- Collaborate with mechanical, plumbing, and firefighting teams to ensure integration of HVAC, water supply, drainage, and firefighting layouts into the electrical and operational design.
- Review and finalize operation-ready layouts and design documents for all building services systems.
- Project Execution & Cross-Disciplinary Coordination
- Work closely with civil, mechanical, fire protection, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and building services systems.
- Drive on-time project delivery while maintaining design integrity, operational compliance, and system reliability.
- Site Oversight, Operations & Commissioning
- Supervise on-site installation, cable management, equipment testing, and system integration.
- Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities and ensure smooth operational handover of all electrical and building services systems.
- Troubleshoot site-level issues for electrical, HVAC, water supply, drainage, and firefighting systems.
- Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Provide guidance on engineering RFIs, design clarifications, and technical problem-solving.
- Liaise with Engineer of Record (EOR), clients, and vendors to maintain project standards, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Innovation & Technology Integration
- Evaluate and implement cutting-edge electrical and building services technologies.
- Optimize energy efficiency, system reliability, and mission-critical performance across electrical and mechanical systems.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, local authority regulations, and data center best practices.
- Lead inspections, risk assessments, and final handover documentation for all electrical and building services systems.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for energy optimization, system reliability enhancement, and operational risk mitigation.
- Drive process improvement initiatives for best-in-class electrical and building services performance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 4–10 years of experience in data center, mission-critical, or large-scale commercial electrical engineering.
- Expertise in LV/MV power distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, grounding systems, and electrical infrastructure design.
- Proven experience in IFC drawings, technical specifications, commissioning, and operations of electrical and building services systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC, water supply, drainage, and firefighting systems integration with electrical infrastructure.
- In-depth understanding of international electrical standards, data center best practices, and local authority regulations.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects from design through commissioning and operational handover, ensuring high reliability and operational excellence.
