Operations Engineer
Major Duties & Responsibilities
-
Release and restore 380 kV / 33 kV circuits during post-commissioning outages and restoration activities.

Issue and cancel work permits and switching permits related to outage operations.

Conduct substation inspections and monitor defect clearance activities.

Issue site notices for major and minor operational issues.
-
Monitor alarms, events, and field activities via SCS/SCADA systems.
-
Respond to minor alarms, perform troubleshooting, and ensure prompt clearance.

Provide standby support and coordinate operational activities as needed.
-
Travel within the project area to support operational requirements.
-
Ensure full compliance with safety rules and operational procedures.
Qualification & Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
-
Minimum 5 years in EHV/HV network switching operations within an electric utility.
-
Must hold switching authorization up to 380 kV (SEC or equivalent).
Technical Knowledge:
-
380 kV GIS substations
-
Protection systems & Substation Automation Systems (SAS)
-
Switching operations, outage coordination, commissioning of MV/EHV equipment
-
Familiarity with international standards and SEC standards/practices
Languages:
Fluency in English (written & spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
