Electrical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Electrical Engineer with active UAE authority approvals to lead the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems for high-rise and commercial developments. The ideal candidate must hold a valid Classification from the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) or Dubai Municipality and be an active member of the UAE Society of Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for ADDC (Abu Dhabi) or DEWA (Dubai) for load approvals, shop drawing inspections, and permanent power connection.
  • Review and approve Electrical Load Schedules, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), and lighting/power layouts ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Oversee LV/MV installations, including switchgear, transformers, busbar systems, and containment.
  • Manage the installation of Low Current/ELV systems (CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, and BMS) in coordination with specialized subcontractors.
  • Lead the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for all electrical equipment to ensure safety and performance standards.
  • Provide cost-effective solutions for electrical procurement and installation without compromising safety or authority standards.
  • Ensure all electrical works adhere to the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code and international standards (IEC/BS).

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Attested by UAE Ministry of Education).
  • Classification: Must hold a valid Engineer Classification (DMT Abu Dhabi or Dubai Municipality).
  • Must be an ADDC/DEWA Approved Engineer with a proven track record of successfully passing authority inspections.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in the UAE construction industry, specifically within MEP contracting or consultancy.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Dialux (lighting design), ETAP or Amtech (load calculation), and MS Project.
  • Strong negotiation skills for managing subcontractors and suppliers; fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
  • Valid UAE Driving License is essential.
