Position: Electrical Engineer
Location: Dubai, UAE
Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer with strong experience in building services and infrastructure design. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on expertise in power distribution, lighting, ELV/low‑current systems, and infrastructure utilities, along with a solid understanding of local authority regulations across the GCC.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for buildings, including LV power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing & lightning protection, and ELV/low‑current systems (CCTV, access control, fire alarm, data, etc.).
- Prepare design drawings, load calculations, single‑line diagrams, specifications, and BOQs in accordance with project requirements and international standards.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated and compliant design solutions.
- Coordinate with outsourced MEP designers to ensure all submissions are delivered on time and in line with the agreed scope, project requirements, relevant standards, and authority regulations.
- Work closely with the site team and MEP subcontractors to ensure all electrical works are executed according to approved drawings, method statements, project specifications, and the project schedule.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements related to electrical systems.
- Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved designs, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Support project managers in technical discussions, progress reporting, and client/consultant meetings.
- Ensure all electrical designs meet safety, sustainability, and quality requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in buildings and infrastructure design, with at least 5 years in the GCC.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, including LV distribution, lighting, ELV/low‑current systems, and infrastructure utilities, with the ability to perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and layout reviews in line with relevant standards and authority requirements.
- Familiarity with GCC codes and authority regulations (DEWA, ADDC, SEC, Dubai Municipality, DCD, NFPA, IEC, etc.).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
- Experience in villa compounds, building complexes, commercial, residential, or mixed‑use projects.
