Position: Electrical Engineer for Design

Location: Dubai

Industry: Engineering Consultancy

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 7-10 years of experience in electrical engineering for construction projects
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design tools
• Strong knowledge of local and international electrical codes & Authority Regulations. (e.g. NEC, IEC, DEWA & DCD)
• Strong knowledge of international standards (IEC, BS, NFPA) and local regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Dialux, and MS Office.
• A background experience in an engineering consultancy in Dubai.
• Valid U.A.E Driving license is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting, telephone, low current system for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
• Prepare electrical load calculations, voltage drop and cable sizing.
• Prepare, revise, and coordinate AutoCAD drawings for electrical systems, ensuring alignment with architectural and mechanical designs.
• Develop and review layouts, single-line diagrams to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to integrate electrical designs into overall project plans.
• Ensure designs comply with DEWA and other local and international standards, safety codes, and energy efficiency requirements.
• Prepare documentation for Authority submissions.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and technical specifications
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality standards in all work activities.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed to support the objectives of the MEP department and the organization.
• Prepare and submit progress and other reports to management as required
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
• Provide technical support during project execution and testing & commissioning stage.
• Ensure designs are optimized for cost, safety, and efficiency.
