Job Purpose
To ensure that all electrical works at project sites are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and authority regulations. The Electrical Engineer / Inspector is responsible for supervising, reviewing, and inspecting electrical installations, coordinating with the MEP team, and ensuring safe and timely delivery of all electrical works.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision & Inspection
- Perform regular site inspections for electrical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Monitor construction progress, workmanship quality, and adherence to project schedules.
- Verify installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
- Identify non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions to ensure compliance.
2. Technical Review & Compliance
- Review electrical shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for technical accuracy and conformity with design intent.
- Ensure compliance with DEWA, Etihad Water & Electricity, and other relevant authority requirements.
- Assist in resolving design or site-related technical issues in coordination with the MEP and design teams.
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare inspection reports, site observations, and progress documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, inspection logs, and checklists.
- Support project engineers in preparing snag lists and handover documentation.
4. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.
- Attend progress and coordination meetings with clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Report key issues, delays, or risks to the Senior MEP Engineer or Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Experience: 5–8 years of relevant site experience in electrical supervision or inspection. Successfully completed at least two full construction projects
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of DEWA and Etihad Water & Electricity regulations. Familiarity with electrical codes and standards applicable in the UAE
- Soft Skills / Competencies: Excellent attention to detail, communication, and reporting skills
- Languages: English (required); Arabic (advantage)
