Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Estimating Intern to support our estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive electrical cost estimates for commercial and/or industrial construction projects. This internship offers hands-on exposure to real projects and an excellent opportunity to learn the fundamentals of electrical estimating, project documentation, and construction workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform quantity take-offs for electrical materials and labor
• Help prepare cost estimates and bid proposals under the guidance of senior estimators
• Research material pricing and maintain updated cost databases
• Support subcontractor and vendor quote comparisons
• Organize and maintain estimating files and documentation
• Attend pre-bid meetings and internal estimating reviews as needed
• Perform other administrative or analytical tasks related to the estimating process

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and construction concepts (coursework acceptable)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar) is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings is a plus
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
