Overview
The Electrical Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of electrical crews on residential, commercial, or industrial job sites. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Electrical team in daily service, maintenance, and installation tasks
- Directs daily activities of electricians and apprentices
- Assigns tasks, monitors progress, and ensures quality control
- Provides mentorship and on-the-job training
- Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Plans and lays out job site logistics and electrical installations
- Coordinates with other trades and project stakeholders
- Work safely and effectively with high-voltage systems
- Enforces safety protocols and conducts regular safety meetings
- Ensures compliance with NEC, OSHA, and local building codes
- Maintains accurate documentation and inspection records
- Monitor tool and equipment inventory, requesting replacements or repairs as needed
- Troubleshoots electrical systems and resolves field issues
- Conduct morning briefings, assign work orders, and ensure team align with project goals
- Coordinate with office staff to streamline scheduling, dispatching, and workflow execution
- Monitor job progress, troubleshoot field challenges, and ensure timely completion of work timeline
- Uphold company standards for professionalism, customer service, and technical performance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial clients during service visits
- Communicate system issues, repair strategies, and timelines with clarity and confidence
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely access to parts and materials
- Oversees installation of wiring, panels, lighting, and controls
- Ensures proper testing and commissioning of systems
- Attend and lead training sessions to promote continuous improvement across the team
Skills
- A minimum of 5 years of Electrical experience, with proven leadership capabilities
- A valid Journeyman or Master Electrician License (if applicable)
- Strong knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documentation related to Electrical systems.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for van driving responsibilities.
- OSHA 10/30 strongly preferred
- Lockout/Tagout strongly preferred
- First Aid / CPR strongly preferred
- Lift Operation Certification strongly preferred
