Purpose of Position
- Responsible for conducting vendor/shop inspections and witnessing tests for electrical equipment in compliance with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) standards, project specifications, and international standards.
- The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy.
Major Responsibilities
- Perform vendor/shop inspections for electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, GIS, MV/LV panels, cables, protection relays, meters, breakers, and related power system components.
- Review and verify compliance with SEC standards, project specifications, ITPs, QCPs, drawings, and data sheets.
- Witness FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests), routine tests, type tests, and shop testing activities.
- Identify and report non-conformities (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are properly implemented.
- Ensure adherence to SEC technical requirements and applicable IEC/IEEE standards.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and submit them within agreed timelines.
- Coordinate with vendors, clients, QA/QC teams, and project stakeholders.
- Monitor manufacturing progress and verify release for shipment.
- Support project teams during technical clarifications and inspections.
Qualification and Experience
Minimum 5+ years (Degree) or 8+ years (Diploma) of inspection experience in Power & Utility (P&U) and Electrical T&D equipment manufacturing.- Strong background in shop/vendor inspections for electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, GIS, MV/LV panels, cables, protection relays, meters, breakers, and power system components
- Must have valid Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) approval for vendor inspection in the required categories (equipment‑specific approvals as applicable).
- Proven experience reviewing SEC standards, project specifications, ITPs, QCPs, FAT procedures, drawings, and data sheets.
- Experience working in vendor shops/OEM facilities and power equipment manufacturing plants.
Skills & Qualities:
Hands‑on experience witnessing FATs, shop testing, routine tests, type tests, and inspection release processes for SEC‑related equipment.
- Strong ability to identify/report non‑conformities, follow SEC processes, and ensure compliance with applicable SEC technical standards.
- Good knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and relevant electrical inspection standards used by SEC.
- Effective reporting and communication skills for coordination with vendors, clients, and QA/QC teams.
