Electrical & Instrumentation Draftsman / Designer

We are hiring an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Draftsman / Designer on behalf of our client for engineering projects in the UAE. The role involves developing concepts and ideas provided by discipline and project engineers into detailed AutoCAD and Revit drawings, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards.

The candidate will work closely with electrical engineers, project teams, and construction teams to deliver high-quality EIT drawings throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D drawings for various engineering projects
• Develop Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecom (EIT) drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
• Prepare drawings including but not limited to:
• EIT equipment layouts
• General arrangement and working drawings
• Cable schedules and load schedules
• MCT schedules
• Cable block diagrams and termination drawings
• Installation and shop drawings
• Cable tray and cable routing layouts
• Material take-offs
• Develop and assist in reviewing detailed designs, drawings, and calculations as required
• Review drawing outputs to ensure compliance with conceptual requirements and discipline standards
• Modify and update drawings based on client comments and reviews
• Work under the guidance of the Lead E&I Engineer on project deliverables
• Conduct site and fabrication yard visits and prepare red-line markups
• Prepare As-Built drawings and documentation
• Coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines to avoid clashes
• Propose cost-effective design and construction methodologies
• Maintain accurate project documentation including revisions, correspondence, and records
• Review constructability and maintainability of designs
• Evaluate client comments to ensure they are within contractual scope
• Support optimization of designs to reduce material usage and construction costs
• Ensure systems are installed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications
• Maintain confidentiality of all project and design information

QHSE Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable QHSE policies, procedures, and controls
• Promote safe working practices and environmental responsibility

Reporting Structure

• Reports to: Senior HVAC Engineer

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Strong experience in Electrical & Instrumentation drafting/design
• Proficiency in:
• AutoCAD
• Revit
• MS Office

Preferred Candidate

• Experience in industrial, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects
• Strong coordination and drawing review skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to AED8,000.00 per month
