Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

We are hiring an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer on behalf of our client for engineering and project execution works in the UAE. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecom (EIT) systems for substations, RIEs, operator shelters, and related facilities.

The ideal candidate will bring strong design, coordination, and leadership skills, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices while meeting project objectives related to cost, quality, safety, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Electrical, Instrumentation & Telecom (EIT) engineering activities from project start through completion and handover
• Act as the primary technical point of contact with clients, addressing engineering queries and ensuring project objectives are met
• Perform detailed design of electrical, instrumentation, and telecom systems
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
• Develop, review, and approve engineering deliverables including drawings, calculations, plans, and reports
• Prepare and manage engineering deliverables lists and ensure submissions are aligned with project schedules
• Perform engineering calculations including:
• Cable sizing & voltage drop
• Short circuit calculations
• Cable tray sizing
• Lighting design (Dialux/Relux)
• Load calculations
• Prepare Site Survey Reports, Installation Method Statements, and Design Basis Documents
• Coordinate with drafting teams for preparation of layouts such as:
• EIT equipment layouts
• Lighting & small power layouts
• Cable tray layouts
• Review drawings for technical accuracy, constructability, and maintainability
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to avoid inter-disciplinary clashes
• Optimize designs to reduce material usage, construction costs, and improve sustainability
• Prepare material requisitions and support procurement through technical and commercial evaluations
• Support estimation teams during bidding with cost inputs and technical guidance
• Conduct site and fabrication yard visits to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications
• Identify design and construction risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Participate in technical meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental standards, and company policies
• Maintain confidentiality of all project and design information

QHSE Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable QHSE procedures and standards
• Recommend and implement improvements to engineering and departmental processes
• Promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible working culture

Reporting Structure

• Reports to: Lead Electrical Engineer

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
• 12+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Strong experience in Electrical, Instrumentation & Telecom systems
• Proficiency in:
• MS Office
• AutoCAD
• Revit
• Dialux / Relux

Preferred Candidate

• Strong client-facing and coordination skills
• Experience working on substations, industrial facilities, or similar projects
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to AED10,000.00 per month
