Electrical Manager

India

An electrical manager in a construction company oversees all aspects of electrical projects, from initial planning and budgeting to final execution and closure. This role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical systems combined with project management, leadership, and safety expertise. Planning and pre-construction

  • Project scope and requirements: Collaborate with clients, engineers, and stakeholders to define the technical requirements, scope, and objectives of the electrical work.
  • Cost estimation and budgeting: Prepare project cost estimates and manage the budget, tracking expenses for materials, labor, and subcontracts.
  • Scheduling: Develop detailed project plans and timelines to ensure electrical work aligns with the overall construction schedule.
  • Procurement: Oversee the procurement process for all electrical equipment and materials, managing vendor and subcontractor relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality.
  • Design review: Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, and specifications for completeness, constructability, and compliance with regulations.

Project execution and coordination

  • Team leadership: Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of electrical engineers, supervisors, and electricians. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance.
  • Installation supervision: Oversee and supervise all on-site electrical installations, including containment, wiring, fixtures, and control systems.
  • Quality control: Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure all work meets project specifications, industry standards, and electrical codes, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Coordination and communication: Act as the primary liaison between the electrical team and other construction managers, architects, and contractors to coordinate activities and resolve conflicts. Communicate project updates and progress to clients and senior management.
  • Problem-solving: Address and resolve any on-site issues, design modifications, or delays as they arise to keep the project on track.

Safety and compliance

  • Health and safety: Enforce and maintain the highest safety standards and procedures for all electrical work. This includes strict adherence to lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and other safety protocols.
  • Risk management: Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential electrical hazards and project risks.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensure all electrical installations and procedures comply with local, state, and federal regulations and safety codes.
  • Training: Ensure all team members have the necessary training and certifications for their assigned tasks.

Project closure and post-construction

  • Testing and commissioning: Oversee the testing and commissioning of all electrical systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Documentation: Manage project documentation, including permits, contracts, drawings, and closeout records.
  • Handover: Ensure a smooth project handover, including providing as-built drawings and necessary operating manuals.
  • Post-project review: Conduct a review to evaluate project performance and identify areas for improvement on future projects

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
