Supervise and lead the daily on-site installation, testing, and commissioning activities of PLC, SCADA, BMS (Building Management System) interfaces, field instrumentation, control panels, wiring, and associated low voltage electrical systems.
Manage, coordinate, and monitor the performance of Electrical/Instrumentation subcontractors to ensure work quality and adherence to the project schedule.
Conduct regular site walkdowns and inspections to verify that installation methods comply with approved Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and project drawings.
Ensure the proper handling, storage, and installation of control system equipment and materials.
Review and verify PLC/SCADA control logic, network architecture, and programming against design specifications and functional descriptions.
Oversee the execution of loop checks, functional tests, I/O verification, and system integration testing.
Witness and approve Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for control panels and automation equipment.
Provide first-line technical troubleshooting and problem-solving support for installation and commissioning issues related to PLC hardware and software.
Ensure that all installations meet the required quality standards and contractual specifications.
Coordinate with the QA/QC team to raise and close out Inspection Requests (IRs) for all control system work.
Maintain and manage site documentation, including red-line drawings for "As-Built" status, test records, calibration certificates, and progress logs.
Review and comment on technical submittals, shop drawings, and O&M (Operation and Maintenance) manuals related to control systems.
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on-site, ensuring all personnel adhere to the Main Contractor's HSE policies and procedures.
Conduct daily toolbox talks, pre-task planning, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for all PLC/Control system work activities.
Ensure strict compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, working-at-height regulations, and other critical safety protocols.
Promptly report and investigate all incidents, near-misses, and safety non-compliances.
Liaise and coordinate work interfaces with other trades (Mechanical, HVAC, Civil, etc.) to ensure a smooth workflow and avoid conflicts.
Collaborate with the Planning team to develop and monitor the detailed weekly and monthly work schedules for the electrical control package.
Communicate project progress, constraints, and resource requirements effectively to the Project Management team.
