Electrical Procurement Engineer

International Group – Istanbul, Turkey

B.L. Harbert International (BLHI), a USA based international design-build, construction management, and general contracting company, is looking for an Electrical Procurement Engineer to work with our International Group in Istanbul, Turkey. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Turkish and English, as a daily responsibility will be following up with on-site electrical coordinators, buyers, and outside vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain and compare quotes, then negotiate with vendors on lead-time, cost and quality so as to obtain the best value for BLHI
• Track and expedite project materials with vendors for international project sites
• Follow up with BLHI USA-based and on-site electrical engineers/managers to ensure necessary materials are ordered
• Convert Purchase Orders from Purchase Requisition in ERP (BLHI’s procurement/material tracking platform)
• Analyze outstanding Purchase Orders in ERP system to assess if closure is required
• Follow-up ERP generated overages, shortages and damages reports with vendors
• Generate ERP reports to analyze other pending procurement issues
• Quality check and inspection of electrical materials received in warehouse, as appropriate
• Assist Estimation Department with vendor pricing exercises, as required
• Engineering and operations participation, as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Turkish Citizen or Lawful Registered Resident
• Experience with MS Office Suite
• Must be living in or available to relocate to Istanbul, Turkey

Preferences:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
• 1 - 3 years’ electrical procurement experience in the construction industry.
• OBO or other USA government agency construction experience would be an advantage, however, not mandatory
• Ability to review project drawings, specification and related technical documents
