An Electrical QA/QC job ensures electrical installations meet standards via inspections, testing, and documentation, covering everything from cable laying and equipment checks (switchboards, transformers) to loop checks and commissioning, using Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and reporting non-conformances to ensure safety and compliance with codes like NFPA and project specs. Key duties include document review, site audits, liaising with teams, and maintaining quality records for handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspection & Testing: Conduct on-site inspections (visual, continuity, insulation) of materials, equipment (transformers, switchgear), cable laying, and installation of devices (outlets, lighting).
  • Documentation: Prepare, review, and maintain quality records, inspection requests, test reports, punch lists, and final handover documents.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to project specifications, national/international standards (like OSHA), approved methods, and Method Statements.
  • Reporting: Submit regular quality reports (daily/weekly) and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Coordination: Liaise with project managers, construction teams, clients, and third parties; coordinate inspections and testing activities.
  • Safety: Perform safety checks, enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and promote workplace safety.
  • System Checks: Oversee calibration, loop checks, functional tests, and commissioning of electrical systems.
