Electrical Systems Designer

We're seeking a skilled Electrical Design Specialist to contribute to the design of custom low-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with production, purchasing, and mechanical engineering teams to facilitate builds and resolve technical challenges. Your expertise will ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

• Develop detailed wiring diagrams, interconnection drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to guide manufacturing processes.
• Create single-line, three-line, and control schematics that accurately represent electrical system designs.
• Provide on-site support to the shop floor, addressing questions related to wiring, mounting, and design specifications.
• Ensure all designs adhere to relevant industry standards, including NEC, UL, IEEE, and ANSI.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and research and development (R&D) projects to enhance product performance and efficiency.
• Optimize component selection, breaker sizing, and cable calculations to ensure safe and efficient power distribution.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Solid understanding of power distribution and control circuits.
• Proficiency in using CAD software for electrical design.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret, create, and modify wiring diagrams and schematics.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working for a switchgear or electrical enclosure manufacturer.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D.
• Experience in electrical design.
