Electrical Technician 1

PRIMARY purpose :
Carry out installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of a wide range of electrical installations and equipment in Dolphin Energy’s Ras Laffan plant and offshore platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Carry out installation, maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of a wide range of high and low voltage equipment, switchgears, control panels, UPS systems, variable speed drives, generators, motors, transformers, protection relays, lighting systems and laboratory equipment, etc.
  • Coordinate with the Electrical Supervisor and obtain approved “Permit to work”, necessary tools and spare parts to carry out required instrumentation and control maintenance, installation or modification work, ensuring all work is completed according to specific instructions, applicable methods and procedures, and in compliance with QHSE standards.
  • Carry out the routine predictive and preventive maintenance checks on various electrical equipment including various types of batteries, including verifications tests, readings, protection relays testing / calibrations and technical testing of equipment after repairs.
  • Coordinate major shutdown maintenance or overhaul work including the dismantling, repair, part change, checking, cleaning, and reassembly of low and high voltage motors and starters, high and low voltage switchgears and feeder breakers, including changing low and high voltage motors bearings, to ensure the electrical unit of field maintenance functions effectively.
  • Perform installation of new electronic equipment and machineries and implement any equipment / system modifications as per specific instructions received from Electrical Supervisor.
  • Oversee and update the maintenance logbook, recording details of the works carried out/completed, including defaults, problems, various findings and conditions of all machines.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Diploma in electrical maintenance.
Minimum Experience:
  • 6 years relevant experience in Gas or petrochemical plant
