What’s the role
The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, electronic components, and plant production equipment across the site and mechanical work as needed.
This includes support machinery, building infrastructure, and other related systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The technician also contributes to system upgrades, continuous improvement initiatives, and assigned maintenance or engineering projects as needed.

What you'll be doing
Executes job assignments based on work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions, adhering to all relevant codes and regulations
Responds promptly to emergency repair requests, including fire system malfunctions, which may occur during off-hours
Diagnoses and troubleshoots electrical systems, equipment, and components using appropriate test instruments and hand tools
Identifies root causes of malfunctions and performs corrective actions to restore functionality
Installs electrical conduits and wiring, connecting to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components as required
Repairs or replaces faulty wiring, fixtures, and equipment using hand and power tools
Conducts inspections of electrical systems and components to detect hazards, defects, or required adjustments, ensuring compliance with applicable codes
Maintains and repairs a wide range of production machinery and equipment, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Installs, modifies, and relocates machinery and equipment. May also perform tasks involving fabrication, welding, plumbing, carpentry, and general mechanical maintenance
Performs repairs and modifications to building and plant systems as needed
Reads and interprets technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and other documentation to guide installation and repair work
Conducts routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and systems, including air compressors, chillers, gauges, filters, and fluid levels
Procures and secures necessary tools, materials, and supplies for assigned tasks
Utilizes a variety of measuring and diagnostic equipment to maintain and repair systems and machinery
Operates a broad range of shop, hand, and power tools commonly used across multiple trades
Maintains accurate records, logs, and system readings related to maintenance activities
Demonstrates proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and technical diagrams
Adheres to all environmental, health, and safety regulations and procedures
Complies with sanitation standards and good manufacturing practices, maintaining cleanliness and personal hygiene
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Manager, Supervisor, or their designee to support overall business objectives
What we need from you
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work visa
Bachelor’s degree and/or certificate as a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) required
Certified Electronics Technician certificate (CET) strongly preferred
Combination of technical training equivalent to that generally obtained in a two-year college or apprenticeship program
Understands, adheres to, and reinforces EHS policies and directives
Ability to work independently and in concert with Electrical & Mechanical Technicians as well as production co-workers and contractors
Minimum 3 years manufacturing work experience and/or 3 years as a Maintenance Technician, with experience & training to include:
Allen Bradley PLC (SLC-500 and/or PLC5)
Process Control & Instrumentation (temperature, flow, pressure, level, etc.)
NFPA 70
Power Distribution (480 VAC & below)
Machine Controls
Calibration of pressure, temperature, level, and flow instrumentation
4-20mA systems
Motor control circuits
Variable frequency drives
Conduit bending and installation wire pulls
Ability to read and red-line P&ID’s
Can perform all required PM checklists (Lamination, Printing, Slitting, Building Infrastructure)
Skilled in troubleshooting and repair of electronic circuits or systems
Can perform all required ISO Calibration for plant production equipment
Knowledge of general maintenance techniques, processes, and procedures for the repair, installation, and modification of a variety of company equipment, systems, and facilities
Skilled in the use of basic hand, shop, and power tools and a wide range of test and measuring equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, schematics, and drawings
Ability to conduct various tests on systems and must know and apply appropriate regulations and standards
Forklift Certification or ability to obtain the same
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and make decisions on the most appropriate approach to solving problems
Effective creative thinking and troubleshooting skills
Good critical judgment and initiative
Ability to cooperate well with others to follow safety procedures and prevent injuries
Must be willing to accept overtime when required
Must be available for call-ins on off-shifts and weekends
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand on feet and walk for prolonged periods, climb ladders & stairs, and work both inside and outside

The starting pay is $41.58 per hour. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives.
