Job Summary
The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems and equipment in the hotel to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations while complying with safety standards and hotel policies.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Operations
- Maintain and repair hotel electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, panels, wiring, and sockets
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults in guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, and back-of-house
- Maintain emergency power systems, generators, UPS, and emergency lighting
- Perform preventive maintenance as per PMS schedule
- Ensure proper functioning of ELV systems (basic support): fire alarm interfaces, BMS points, access control power, CCTV power
Safety & Compliance
- Follow electrical safety procedures, lock-out/tag-out systems, and PPE requirements
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, hotel SOPs, and safety standards
- Report unsafe conditions and take corrective action immediately
Guest & Operational Support
- Respond promptly to guest complaints related to electrical issues
- Coordinate with housekeeping and front office to minimize guest disturbance
- Support events, banquets, and conferences with temporary power setups
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain logs for maintenance activities, breakdowns, and inspections
- Update checklists and report recurring issues to the supervisor
- Assist during audits and inspections
Teamwork
- Coordinate with HVAC, plumbing, and civil maintenance teams
- Assist contractors during major repairs or projects
- Perform other duties assigned by Engineering Management
Health & Safety
- Operate equipment using procedures learnt during training to company standards.
- To report any equipment failures or problems to the Maintenance Department.
- Demonstrate an understanding and an awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety
- To play an active part in the fire investigation and firefighting teams
- To be vigilant in the workplace and report any signs of fire related issues
- Familiarise yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of your line manager.
- To attend all mandatory training sessions selected by the Hotels Training Department

Pay: AED1,400.00 - AED1,500.00 per month
