Electrical Technician (Cement Plant)

The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment in fully integrated cement manufacturing plant. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations while emphasizing strict adherence to safety procedures, high-quality workmanship, and continuous improvement in electrical maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities Electrical Maintenance & Operations:
  • Troubleshoot, repair, service, and replace electrical equipment including motors, switchgear, transformers, breakers, and switches.
  • Conduct periodic inspections, calibrations of protective relays, and testing to ensure optimal functioning.
  • Perform installations of new electrical equipment or components.
  • Inspect and replace lighting systems; ensure all electrical systems operate efficiently.
  • Participate in root cause analysis of plant failures and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare shift and incident reports for all maintenance activities.
Safety & Compliance:
  • Follow all permit-to-work systems and safety procedures (Hot Work, Confined Space, Work at Height, Lifting & Rigging, etc.).
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and safe work areas post-maintenance.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with EHS policies and legislative requirements.
Teamwork & Development:
  • Collaborate effectively with the maintenance team.
  • Undertake training to improve skills and fulfill responsibilities.
  • Contribute to discussions on plant or electrical system improvements.
Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Diploma in Electrical OR ITI Certificate Electrical

Experience: Minimum 3 years in electrical maintenance within a cement manufacturing plant (applicants without cement plant experience will not be considered).
