Job Purpose:
Responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures to ensure safe and efficient operations in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and equipment in accordance with regulations and safety standards.
- Diagnose electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and resolve faults efficiently.
- Inspect and test electrical systems, components, and appliances for safety, functionality, and compliance.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Ensure proper functioning of lighting, power distribution, control systems, and emergency backup systems.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures at all times.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and maintenance schedules.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
- Coordinate with other technicians, engineers, and contractors as required.
Key Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in facilities, construction, or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, safety standards, and local electrical codes.
- Ability to use electrical testing equipment and tools effectively.
- Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in varying environments (indoors, outdoors, at heights, etc.).
- Flexibility to work in shifts and respond to on-call emergencies.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of PLCs, control systems, or automation (if relevant to your industry).
- Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, or other MEP services.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
