  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical malfunctions using schematics, blueprints, and testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, ammeters).
  • Repair and replace faulty electrical components, such as circuit breakers, relays, switches, fuses, and wiring.
  • Maintain and repair lighting systems throughout the facility, including interior, exterior, and emergency lighting (exit signs, egress path lighting).
  • Service and maintain electrical components of building equipment, including HVAC systems, pumps, motors, conveyors, and commercial kitchen equipment.

2. Installation & Project Work:

3. Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere strictly to all National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA, and company-specific safety standards and procedures.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures diligently to ensure a zero-energy state before beginning work.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Inspect electrical systems for code compliance and potential safety hazards, reporting findings to management.
  • Ensure all work is performed to the highest quality and safety standards.

4. Emergency Response:

  • Serve as a first responder for after-hours electrical emergencies, such as power outages, equipment failures, and critical system alarms, as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Quickly diagnose and resolve issues to minimize downtime and disruption to business operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid state Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a commercial or industrial electrician.
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance, plant maintenance, or a similar setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with low-voltage systems (e.g., fire alarm, security, data/communications).
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) or energy management systems.
  • Experience using a CMMS (e.g., Maximo, Fiix, eMaint).
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.

Technical Skills & Abilities

  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for electrical work.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
