Pay: £45,000.00 - £55,000 per year
Job description:
The Role
We are looking for a highly competent Electrician with strong experience in domestic installation, who is comfortable working across retrofit and renewable technologies within the social housing sector.
This is not a standard electrician role. You will be expected to operate across multiple workstreams including:
- Solar PV installations (domestic)
- Electrical works on Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
- dMEV / ventilation systems
- Heating controls & smart systems
- High retention storage heaters
- General domestic electrical upgrades tied to retrofit works
You will be working as part of a fast-growing delivery team, often within occupied social housing properties, where quality, compliance and customer interaction are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installations across retrofit and renewable measures
- Install and commission Solar PV systems (AC side minimum, DC preferred)
- Support ASHP installs (wiring, controls, testing)
- Install and commission ventilation systems (dMEV, MEV)
- Install heating controls and storage heating systems
- Carry out testing, inspection, and certification (EIC, EICR, Minor Works)
- Ensure all works comply with BS 7671 (18th Edition) and relevant standards
- Work closely with site teams, Retrofit Coordinators, and management
- Maintain high standards when working in occupied homes
- Ensure all documentation and compliance paperwork is completed correctly
Required Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- AM2
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- 2391 / 2394 & 2395 (Inspection & Testing)
- Full UK Driving Licence
Highly Desirable (You’ll stand out if you have these)
- Solar PV qualification (Level 3 Award in Solar PV Installation)
- Experience with ASHP systems (electrical connections & controls)
- Experience installing ventilation systems (dMEV / MEV / MVHR)
- Experience in social housing or large-scale domestic programmes
- Knowledge of PAS 2030 / PAS 2035 environments
- NICEIC / NAPIT experience (or working under a registered contractor)
What We’re Actually Looking For
- Someone who can work across multiple measures, not just “first fix / second fix”
- Strong understanding of compliance, not just installation
- Ability to operate in volume delivery environments without dropping quality
- Good communication skills when dealing with tenants and site teams
- Someone who takes ownership — not someone who waits to be told
Progression Opportunity
This role has a clear path into:
- Electrical Supervisor / QS
- Renewables Lead
- Team Leader (building and managing squads / subcontractors)
We are scaling quickly, and we want people who can grow with the business.
