Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various projects. You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality electrical installations, reactive maintenance, and testing. Whether you are working on a large-scale construction site or providing essential repairs for a local business, you will represent the SMK brand through expert craftsmanship and a professional "can-do" attitude.
Responsibilities
- Installation & Commissioning: Install, wire, and connect electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and fire alarms, ensuring full compliance with BS 7671 (18th Edition).
- Safety First: Adhere strictly to Health & Safety regulations, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Testing & Inspection: Carry out Initial Verifications and Periodic Inspections (EICRs); identify faults and provide clear, concise remedial reports.
- Maintenance: Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to minimise downtime for clients.
- Compliance: Ensure all work is self-certified and documented accurately via digital platforms (e.g., NICEIC or NAPIT software).
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems and safety standards.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, etc., as well as power tools including drills and saws.
- Demonstrable electrical experience with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in electrical installation or maintenance are preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Valid UK driving licence is desirable but not essential. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to apply their technical skills within a dynamic environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent) and AM2.
Experience: Proven experience in Domestic/Commercial/Industrial environments
- Regulations: Current BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) qualification.
- Testing: City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) in Inspection and Testing is highly desirable.
- Credentials: A valid ECS Gold Card.
- Driving Licence: Full UK Manual Driving Licence (with minimal points).
Pay: £45,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
