Electrician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrician to join our team on a large housing project in Southsea, Portsmouth. This is a full time position with potentially up to 3 months work. Must have valid ESC/CSCS card. Rate of pay will depend on experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out full electrical installations including wiring, containment, lighting, power outlets, consumer units, and associated equipment.
• Conduct testing, inspection, and certification of electrical systems in compliance with BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and undertake remedial works where necessary.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, site plans, and specifications.
• Supervise and guide electrical improvers or apprentices when required.
• Ensure work is completed to project deadlines while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and site-specific regulations.
• Liaise with supervisors, site managers, and other trades to ensure efficient progress on-site.

Experience

• ECS/JIB Gold Card (Electrician).
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Inspection and Testing qualification (C&G 2391 or equivalent) desirable.
• Proven experience in domestic and commercial electrical installations
• Strong knowledge of current IET wiring regulations and building standards (including Part P).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: £17.00-£26.00 per hour
