Job Description – School Electrician

Position: Electrician
Reports to: Admin/Operations Manager

Role Purpose:

To ensure the smooth operation, safety, and maintenance of all electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment within the school premises. The electrician will support the school by conducting regular inspections, repairs, and installations, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures across the school campus.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical equipment, circuits, and systems to ensure proper functioning.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, resolving them in a timely and safe manner.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with safety codes and school policies.
• Maintain backup systems, including generators, UPS, and emergency lighting.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests or emergencies (e.g., power outages, electrical hazards).
• Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment inspections.
• Assist with planning and implementation of new electrical installations during renovations or expansions.
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance team and report directly to the Admin/Operations Manager.
• Ensure safe use and proper storage of tools, equipment, and electrical materials.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
• Familiarity with safety standards and electrical codes.
• Problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Proven work experience as an electrician (preferably in a school or institutional setting).
• Sound knowledge of generators, UPS, and electrical safety systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including responding to emergencies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to Rs30,000.00 per month
