ELECTRO-MECHANICAL ENGINEER

PURPOSE:

Responsible for the design, installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment in wastewater treatment plants, package treatment plants, and pumping stations. Ensures safe, reliable, and efficient electrical operations to support uninterrupted wastewater treatment processes.

ROLES & RESPOSIBILITIES :

· Manage and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, valves, and other rotating equipment.

· Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of new electro-mechanical equipment.

· Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in pumps, motors, and associated systems.

· Monitor energy consumption of pumps and motors and recommend efficiency improvements.

· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.

· Work closely with electrical and instrumentation engineers for integrated system operations.

· Ensure adherence to safety procedures and compliance with relevant codes and standards.

· Recommend upgrades or replacements of equipment based on condition and performance analysis.

· Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.

· Report incidents that present or have the potential to represent a loss to the organization. These include occupational injuries/illness, security, environmental incidents and product and severe non-conformances, to prevent recurrences.

· Carry out other tasks assigned.

Experience:

· Minimum 7 years of experience in the operations and maintenance of electro-mechanical maintenance in water or wastewater utilities, industrial plants, or pumping stations.

Competencies:

· Deep knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and their operations in wastewater facilities.

· Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.

· Commitment to high safety standards during maintenance and operations.

· Skilled in managing maintenance schedules and resources.

· Ability to communicate technical information effectively to teams and management.

· Strong ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams (electrical, instrumentation, operations).

· Capable of working under pressure and handling emergency repairs efficiently.

Education: Degree in Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, or similar experience

Others: UPDA Certified Engineer / to obtain this year

Language: English (written and verbal communication)
