Electromechanical Manufacturing Leader (Value Stream Manager)
Sierra Peaks is seeking an Electromechanical Manufacturing Leader / Value Stream Manager to own the tactical, day-to-day operations of our electromechanical assembly (EMA), cable manufacturing, and machine shop value streams. This mid-level, hands-on leader drives production execution, team performance, cost reduction, and on-time delivery, while partnering closely with Project Managers, Engineering, and customers to meet demand and deliver high-quality products. This role is full-time, on-site reporting to the Director of Operations and overseeing production leads, machinists, and technicians.

Electromechanical assembly experience in low-to-mid volume manufacturing (typical batches of ~5–20 units).

Demonstrated success developing, implementing, and leading teams through growth.

Engineering background or strong engineering fluency, enabling effective collaboration on manufacturability, processes, and technical execution.

Proven ability to lead in a hands-on, high-collaboration production environment.

Strong problem-solving skills

Clear communicator who can coordinate across production, engineering, and project management.

Core Responsibilities

Lead daily tactical operations for:

Electromechanical assembly (EMA)

Cable manufacturing
-
Machine shop / machining support
-
Translate demand and project schedules into executable production plans.

Own production output
-
Identify and remove bottlenecks to improve throughput and reduce lead times.

Partner with Project Managers to align production priorities to contract requirements and customer needs.

Work directly with customers (as needed) to confirm delivery expectations and manage commitments.

Lead and develop production leads, machinists, and technicians.
-
Train and mentor teams to support growth in volume, complexity, and capability.

Promote a safe, respectful, and collaborative shop-floor environment.

Support and drive continuous improvement efforts

Track and improve profitability metrics for the electromechanical value stream

Recommend operational changes that improve margins without sacrificing quality, delivery or customer service

Ensure production processes meet internal and customer quality standards.

Use root-cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent repeat issues.

Monitor and deliver against on-time delivery targets; escalate risks early with solutions.

Standardize and improve production workflows, communication cadence, and visual management.

Support ERP accuracy and discipline (BOMs, routings, job closeout, inventory moves).

Improve production planning maturity over time through better data, forecasting, and scheduling tools.

Support business development through review of lead time and price for future proposals
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.

Direct experience with production planning/scheduling and demand execution.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing, value-stream thinking, or continuous improvement frameworks.
