Job Summary
Plans, selects, sets up, and operate electronic instrumentation and related electromechanical or electrohydraulic apparatus used for operation and environmental testing of mechanical, structural, or electrical equipment, and translates test data for engineering personnel by performing the following duties. Perform PLC troubleshooting on Allen-Bradley, Square D, or other equivalent control systems to quickly identify and resolve PLC faults.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities but not limited to:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to follow all Howmet's safety regulations, work rules and all departmental specific requirements.
Record data either manually or by computer as required.
Interpret electrical schematics, code logic, and HMI interfaces to diagnose system issues.
Collaborate with engineering teams to implement control system modifications and upgrades.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Strong knowledge of industrial automation, electrical systems, and instrumentation.
Qualifications
Education:
High school Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 5 years industrial experience/manufacturing experience.
Preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
