You will fully own the procurement of all electronics raw materials required for product design, prototyping, and mass manufacturing. Your responsibility is to ensure every component is available on time, at the best possible cost, and sourced from reliable vendors. This role is purely procurement-focused and demands strong electronics component knowledge, strict vendor management, and accurate material planning.
Source electronic components including:
PCBs, ICs, MCUs, sensors, connectors, relays, cables, LED components, power supplies, passive components, enclosures, and mechanical parts.
Identify reliable local, national, and international suppliers (e.g., Shenzhen vendors, Mouser, DigiKey, Element14).
Track component availability, global shortages, lead times, and substitutes.
Evaluate alternate components and equivalents with R&D when primary parts face delays or high pricing.
Select, evaluate, and onboard suppliers based on quality, price, and lead time.
Negotiate pricing, MOQs, delivery timelines, and payment terms.
Maintain strong long-term vendor relationships and seek new vendors to reduce dependency.
Monitor vendor performance — on-time delivery, rejection rates, consistency, communication responsiveness.
Build procurement plans based on upcoming build requirements and R&D asks.
Track demand for long-lead components and maintain buffer stock for critical items.
Prevent material shortages by managing reorder points and purchase cycles.
Maintain a clear procurement tracker with PO status, lead times, and risk items.
Maintain updated Bills of Materials with pricing, vendor mapping, and lead times.
Document alternate components, substitute part numbers, and cost changes.
Coordinate with R&D on BOM updates, component version changes, and part validations.
Maintain a clean database of supplier quotes, POs, invoices, and component datasheets.
Ensure best-value pricing without compromising quality.
Compare multiple quotations and perform cost-benchmarking.
Ensure materials meet required specifications by verifying datasheets and vendor quality.
Reduce procurement costs through negotiation, vendor diversification, and bulk buying where applicable.
Work with internal teams (R&D, Finance, Stores) strictly for procurement handover and documentation — not operational execution.
Track inbound shipments and ensure timely delivery against POs.
Prepare weekly procurement status reports for management.
Strong practical knowledge of electronic components (ICs, sensors, connectors, PCBs, power electronics).
Ability to understand BOMs, datasheets, part numbers, and component categories.
Understanding of component substitutes, global sourcing, and typical lead times.
Proven vendor management and negotiation experience.
Strong ability to evaluate quotes, compare suppliers, and drive cost savings.
Experience sourcing from India + international platforms (Mouser, DigiKey, AliExpress, Shenzhen markets).
Strong planning, prioritization, and documentation discipline.
High accuracy in maintaining procurement trackers, pricing sheets, and BOMs.
Ability to manage multiple POs and vendors simultaneously.
2–6 years in electronics procurement, component sourcing, or supply chain for hardware/IoT/electronics companies.
Diploma or Degree in Electronics/Electrical (preferred but not mandatory if experience is strong).
