<Job Summary>
Special Education Teacher
Center Woods Elementary School seeks a full-time Special Education teacher. Successful candidates will be comfortable working in all tiered levels of instruction, have the ability to utilize data to implement research-based instruction and programs, a capacity to support students with varied academic and behavioral needs and be familiar with competency-based learning. In addition, candidates should have the ability to collaborate with multiple departments, as well as a strong working knowledge in special education law, procedures, and developing IEPs.
Qualified candidates must possess a NH certification, or a Statement of Eligibility (SOE), as in General Special Education (1900).

<Responsibilities>
- Design and deliver engaging, individualized lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and students’ IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
- Assess student progress regularly using standardized testing and formative assessments, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure growth.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists—to support comprehensive student development.
- Implement effective classroom management and behavior management techniques to create a safe, structured learning environment conducive to learning.
- Provide specialized instruction in literacy education, math, early childhood education, and other core subjects tailored to students’ abilities.
- Conduct early intervention strategies and behavioral therapy techniques to support children with autism and developmental disabilities.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP meetings, and communication with parents or guardians to ensure transparency and compliance.

- Proven experience working with children in special education settings, including classroom experience with diverse learners.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and lesson planning tailored for students with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, and external specialists effectively.
- Skilled in behavioral health practices, behavior management strategies, and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Proficiency in proofreading educational materials and developing customized curricula that meet individual student needs.
- Familiarity with deaf education methods and working with students who have hearing impairments or speech therapy needs.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for students with autism, developmental disabilities, or those requiring early intervention services.

Pay: $45,796.63 - $55,152.93 per year
