SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER (K-12)

Location: Center Line Public Schools

Salary: $46,396- $73,047/In Accordance with CLEA Master Agreement

Reports To: Building Administrator

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
  • K-12 Special Education Endorsement.
  • Understanding of a variety of student disabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IDEA and MDE regulations for educating and assessing students with disabilities.

PREFERENCES:

  • Cognitive Impairment (SA), Emotional Impairment (SE), Learning Disabled (SM), or Autism (SV) endorsement.
  • Elementary CI Experience.
  • Early Childhood endorsement (ZA or ZS).
  • Knowledge of corrective reading and corrective math.
  • Knowledge of NWEA test administration and interpretation.

DESCRIPTION:

  • Identify, instruct, and implement accommodations for students with disabilities.
  • Implement student tiered intervention.
  • Differentiate the Common Core/Michigan Standards for students with disabilities.
  • Ability to use assistive technology.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction.
  • Timely manage and organize IEP's.
  • Administer special education assessments.
  • Keep proper forms and update records as required by the District and the State.
  • Consult with staff and parents regarding caseload students.
  • Work with students with varying educational disabilities.
  • Assist with the accommodations and modifications for state wide testing.
  • Develop and implement functional Behavior Analysis (FBAP) and behavior Intervention Planning (BIP).
  • Coordinate with other district ancillary staff members on behavioral plans.
  • Participate in professional development training and school related activities as assigned.
